Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo (“I’m not going to work just because you tell me to”) is a 2012 online-only PSP adventurer management sim made by e-smile. It did well enough that it was remade asĀ Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo Otsu in 2013 and then ported to PSVITA, iOS and Android in 2014. Just because a game gets ported doesn’t always mean it’s good, but Ore ni Hatarake is one of the good ones, so chances are either the original or the upcoming sequel will get localized someday. Wishful thinking? I sure hope not. Do please go on, this is most interesting
Why I put Izuna 2 on hold
I got quite far into the main story, I think. My save file reads Mugen City, Izuna level 38. However I put the game on hold a few days ago for a few simple, largely personal reasons.
Reason 1 – My roguelike itch had already been scratched by Dungeon of Windaria right before I started Izuna 2. That’s why I say I2 is only on hold, not dropped, because even though I really really don’t feel like playing it now, I’m sure in another 3 or 4 months I’ll start feeling like a roguelike again and then maybe I’ll go back to it. Maybe. If something doesn’t cut in on it first. Do please go on, this is most interesting
Busy + tired + sick
Plus I have to get a wisdom tooth taken out in the next week or so. Not looking forward to it =_=. Once all the dust settles, remind me to:
1. Finish the Entaku no Seito walkthrough – I need to add a Table of Contents, the postgame dungeon and skill/spell descriptions for the healer, wizard, alchemist and druid classes.
2. Explain why I have dropped Hanayaka nari waga Ichizoku Kinema Mosaic for good because I’m too lazy to play with a FAQ in one hand… maybe I should give it one final chance… urgh, no. It’s dropped. [Done]
3. Explain why I have dropped Ao no Kiseki. Actually no, I don’t need a whole post for that. The reason is that they talk too much and go on and go on about every little thing. It’s not that big a deal if an RPG story hasn’t made any progress in 5 hours, but when 90% of the time has been spent talking, and not just talking but just saying the same thing over and over again in slightly different words, then a visual novel hater like me should know when to bail. Okay, that’s crossed off To Do List. [Done]
4. Explain why I have put Izuna 2 on permanent hold, i.e. dropped it but I don’t want to admit it in case I change my mind. [Done]
5. Talk about what I’m currently playing: Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo (PSP version). I’ve already been game over’d once, so I’m on my second playthrough now. I want to say it’s not that hard once you know what you’re doing, but first I have to make it past the 6th month this time so I don’t end up boasting too soon. [Done]
Right. Now to get some sleep. My head is pounding.
Finished Shin Megami Tensei IV (slight spoilers)
Neutral route clear. My final save read 66 hours and 59 minutes. In my humble opinion, only 30 of those hours actually needed to be in the game. Okay, so the extra 10 hours I spent doing sidequests were kind of my fault. Kind of not my fault either though, because it turns out I had to do almost every quest in Tokyo to finish the neutral route. I just got a headstart, is all.
The 10 hours I spent getting lost in Tokyo and the Hall of Eternity were totally Atlus’s fault, as were the 16 hours spent dragging out the game and explaining things that didn’t need explanation while glossing over issues that could have used more attention. Shin Megami Tensei IV – Neutral Route! (spoilers)
Whee! I’m on the neutral route! I’m so happy~! I didn’t think I’d make it because I only started using a FAQ when it was almost too late. For most of the game I just chose options that seemed right to me and generally tried to be a decent sort of guy. Unfortunately the stories in these SMT games are so juvenile, always trying so hard to be “edgy” and “against the grain” that being an honest fellow and not wantonly murdering people somehow makes you side with brain-sucking gangsters and dictatorial angels instead of just making you a normal human being. Go figure. Do please go on, this is most interesting
